Crowns / Bridges

Crowns or “caps” are restorations used  to protect a tooth and to return its natural beauty and function.  An onlay or porcelain veneer restoration is generally the treatment of choice whenever possible as it will also protect the tooth but requires less tooth structure to be removed.

However, when teeth are badly broken, extensively decayed, or simply in need of replacing existing caps, crowns are the treatment of choice.

Crowns can be made of all porcelain, porcelain fused to gold, or all gold. The best crown material is often determined by an individual’s bite and aesthetic considerations.
